Exploring the Art of Cy Twombly
Welcome to our art print store, dedicated to the distinctive artistic vision of Cy Twombly, one of the most unconventional figures in modern art.
Born in Lexington, Virginia, in 1928, Cy Twombly developed a highly individual style that brought together abstract painting, expressive lines, handwritten marks, and references to classical mythology, history, and literature. After moving to Italy in the late 1950s, he continued to develop a body of work that challenged traditional boundaries between painting, drawing, and writing.
Twombly’s art is recognised for its expressive gestures, layered compositions, and distinctive use of colour and space. From subtle, pencil-like markings on pale backgrounds to energetic compositions in bold colours, his work offers a wide range of visual approaches to contemporary interiors and art collections.

Art, History and Individual Expression
Cy Twombly’s work draws on ideas from ancient civilisations, poetry, mythology, and the natural world. Rather than relying on conventional representation, he used marks, gestures, and written elements to create compositions that invite personal interpretation.
His artistic legacy continues to hold an important place in the history of modern art, offering an enduring point of reference for collectors and admirers of expressive, unconventional visual art.
